Biometric boarding successfully piloted at Ljubljana Airport

A biometric boarding pilot at Ljubljana Airport, involving Amadeus, Adria Airways and LOT Polish Airlines, reduced the average boarding time by approximately 75%. The successful trial paves the way for a common biometric solution, making check-in, security and boarding easier.

FLIO announces 1 million app installs

The FLIO app, used by air passengers to destress their time at airports, has now been installed more than one million times. This makes FLIO, the air traveller’s ‘flight companion’, the most used airport app in the world. Usage of the app increased three and a half times between January and December 2018.

NATS trialling use of Artificial Intelligence at Heathrow Airport to help reduce flight delays

A project is underway within NATS’ bespoke Digital Tower Laboratory at Heathrow Airport to test whether a combination of ultra HD 4K cameras, along with state-of-the-art AI and machine learning technology, can be used to help improve the airport’s landing capacity in times of low visibility, as well as improving punctuality.
