Athens International Airport has chosen FLIO Digital Airport Experience, a leading provider for mobile users at airports, to help support the overall digital experience at the airport.
Athens Airport’s passengers can now use their mobile phones to book parking, get airport and live flight information, and receive discounts at airport stores and restaurants.
George Demetriades, Director of IT&T Business Unit of Athens International Airport, said: “Athens International Airport always seeks innovative ways of improving passenger experiences. The FLIO team convinced us very early on that with FLIO we can significantly increase the number of global international passengers that we can reach with information about our airport. As FLIO can also promote the shopping and food and beverage partners, there is a potential for additional revenue generation benefit as well. In our opinion, through AIA’s partnership with FLIO we deliver everything a passenger needs, clearly processed in just a single digital experience.”
Stephan Uhrenbacher, Founder & CEO of FLIO added: “We are delighted that Athens Airport has joined the growing number of European airports which use FLIO to communicate to their visiting passengers. Athens Airport is considered by many to be in the forefront of internet technology, drawing on experience of running their own app, but also using Facebook Messenger. FLIO is a low cost, fast-track solution for enhancing the passenger’s digital experience bringing both practical information and opportunities to shop, eat and drink and book airport services from car parking to lounges. I have no doubt that working with the experts at Athens Airport will lead to even more service-enhancing features from FLIO.”
FLIO will begin by supporting Athens Airport with information such as layout maps of the airport, a track-my-flight feature, an integrated ‘find my car’ feature for the airport car parks, live weather forecast, simplified access to free airport Wi-Fi and a handy listing of everything the airport has to offer.
