SWISS introduces home-printed bag tags for Zurich flights

SWISS is the first global network airline to introduce an innovative new check-in option for its travellers departing from Zurich Airport – allowing them to print their bag tags before they leave home.

Already available on flights departing Geneva Airport, SWISS has now extended the home-printed bag tags for all of its services leaving Zurich. It has also been launched for inbound services to Zurich from points including New York JFK and Moscow.

SWISS baggage tags

Passengers on SWISS flights departing from Zurich Airport are now able to print out their checked baggage tags before arriving at the airport.

In a bid to minimise waiting times, the new print option from SWISS allows passengers to print up to four baggage tags alongside their boarding pass, so that they are already prepared upon arrival at the airport.

Printed in A4, the baggage tags can then be folded and inserted into a re-usable transparent plastic pouch, which is available for free at any SWISS airport desk. It is then attached to the bag before being handed into either the self-service bag drop machine or staffed bag drop desk.

The home-printed bag tag option will soon be extended to SWISS flights inbound to Zurich from points in the US and outside the EU. SWISS flights from points in the EU will also be added to its portfolio as soon as IATA publishes its customs requirements for the feature.
