Virtual helpers arrive at Glasgow Airport to support passengers

Glasgow Virtual Helpers

Glasgow Airport has installed three Tensator Virtual Assistants – two to convey important safety messages to passengers in the security area, and one to assist travellers with the new e-border gates.

Virtual helpers are on hand at Glasgow Airport to help improve the customer experience. Giving the illusion of a real person in uniform, a trio of Tensator Virtual Assistants have been strategically placed around the airport to aid passengers passing through security, and the UK border and international arrival gates.

Specifically, the assistants are capable of distributing important safety messages to passengers such as prohibited items in hand luggage and how to carry liquids, as well as assisting people at the e-border gates.

“At Glasgow Airport, we put our passengers at the heart of our operations, and we are always looking at new ways to improve the customer experience,” Amanda MacLellan, Terminal Operations Manager at Glasgow Airport, commented. “Our new Tensator Virtual Assistants are a fantastic addition to the terminal team, and they offer advice and information to travellers as they pass through the terminal.”

Glasgow Airport isn’t the first to introduce Tensator Virtual Assistants with some of the world’s busiest airports, including London Heathrow, Madrid, Dubai International, and Miami International, among those already using the helpers.

Ajay Joshi, Head of Media and Technology Solutions at Tensator Group, said the virtual assistants have helped to speed-up the security process at airports and offers a “more efficient experience”.

He added: “It offers a more innovative way to convey messages to both first time and frequent flyers, whilst freeing up staff resources to focus on other elements of the passenger journey.”

It is estimated that more than eight million passengers will come into contact with the Tensator Virtual Assistants at Glasgow Airport this year, and initial feedback has already shown that passengers are finding them helpful.
