Fortnum & Mason, a renowned British food and drink retailer, has opened its first standalone airport store at London Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5. The beautifully-designed 1,000 square foot store carries a selection of products from Fortnum & Mason’s flagship Piccadilly store, designed with the traveller in mind. These include its iconic hampers, as well as a range of its most popular teas and preserves, including jams, marmalades and honeys, and confectionery items. There is also a savoury counter offering a selection of chilled products like smoked salmon and caviar.
Famous for its fine teas, Fortnum & Mason has created a new blend exclusively for the Terminal 5 store. ‘Explorer’s Blend’ is said to be a bold combination of contrasting flavours from the four corners of the tea world: Ceylon (Nuwara Eliya), Kenya, China (Green Jasmine) and India (Assam).
Meanwhile, a stunning Fortnum & Mason bar will also open in December. From the first to last flight, travellers will be able to sample a range of fresh, seasonal food and drink, celebrating the best of Fortnum & Mason’s famous Food Halls at its flagship store. This will include charcuterie plates, hams, caviars and smoked salmon, alongside an extensive collection of wines and champagnes.
