2010 has seen a 50% increase in the number of ACI Global Training Hub courses offered to more than 1,600 participants worldwide, paving the way for an equally challenging year in 2011.
The Global Training Hub (GTH) has set its goals high for Europe, which is the region with the largest number of courses offered. With more than 30 courses scheduled in 13 different locations, topics include Safety with the Global Safety Network programme; these modules are scheduled at least twice during 2011 to give the best opportunity to candidates to obtain their specialised diploma.
Other airport activities are covered, from the Environment with the Airport Environmental Management course to Economics with 5 different courses on offer. Not forgetting Facilitation and other airport related subjects such as Airport Human Resources Management and EU Regulations for Airports.
With the great success of the ACI/ICAO Global Airport Management Professional Accreditation (AMPAP) first mandatory course in Brussels, it made good sense to plan AMPAP Elective sessions in the region to encourage the candidates to complete the programme. With that said, 6 Elective courses are scheduled covering 4 main topics for airports.
In addition, the ACI Global Training Hub was pleased to launch the first of the three courses composing the new Airport Dynamics programme. Based in Geneva, the session on Airport Business Dynamics had excellent feedback with three experts present to share their knowledge on the fundamental activities at airports. The second course of the programme, entitled ‘Airport Terminal and Landside Operations’ is also being held in Europe, this time in Zagreb.
Through strong collaboration with Henri Coanda International Airport in Bucharest, four fully booked GTH training courses took place in 2010. ACI would like to build on this partnership and develop a new Training Centre in Bucharest taking advantage of its central location in Europe and excellent market access.
ACI World and ACI EUROPE look forward to bringing a professional and extensive training solution to their members in Europe in 2011.
